Scenkonstmuseet – swedish museum of performing arts
Scenkonstmuseet is a experience centre devoted to the arts of dance, music and theatre, as well as being one of Europe’s leading museums for performance. Scenkonstmuseet is a state museum that forms part of Musikverket – the Swedish Performing Arts Agency. The house, Kronobageriet, is one of the oldest industrial buildings in Stockholm, the oldest part dates from 1639. It has a long and eventful building history, through the centuries it has had various functions like a bakery, custody stores and firewood stores. In 1975-1978 the building was rebuilt for the Music and Theater Museum that moved in to the building in 1979 and later became Scenkonstmuseet.
In 2016 Petra Gipp became responsible supervising architect for the building, appointed by The National Property Board of Sweden.
